About Sweet Bakes

Hello! My name is Molly Wagar, and I’m the proud owner and founder of Sweet Bakes at seventeen years old. Sweet Bakes is a home-based baking business that I launched in 2022, but my passion for baking began at the age of three. I grew up baking alongside my Dad, Mom, and Grandma, who taught me the fundamentals of baking. Over the years, I have taken various baking classes and courses, continually expanding my skills and knowledge. With over 14 years of experience, I’ve created countless recipes and am always excited to learn new techniques. I love experimenting in the kitchen and creating new baked goods.

 

At Sweet Bakes, I offer 100% homemade baked goods made in small batches using high-quality, real ingredients. Every item can be customized to perfectly suit your needs and events!

I handle every aspect of Sweet Bakes—from building the website and baking orders to decorating, customer service, ingredient shopping, bookkeeping, invoicing, marketing and more!

How Sweet Bakes Started 

​Since the age of three, I have had a deep passion for cooking and baking. Throughout my childhood, I spent a lot of time baking both at home and in various classes. As I grew older, I began tackling more complex recipes and improving my skills.

 

In 2022, I received numerous requests from family and friends who wanted to buy my baked goods. I started taking orders, designed a logo, and started creating a business. In 2023, I was invited to participate in “Bevers Den,” a program for Métis youth entrepreneurs similar to Shark Tank.

 

This opportunity allowed me to officially launch Sweet Bakes! Through this experience, I gained valuable insights into running a business and learned the steps necessary to turn Sweet Bakes into a legitimate business. Over the following months, I developed a website, created a menu, set up an Instagram page, and got business cards, all while taking on more and more orders. I successfully transformed Sweet Bakes into a thriving business, built a clientele, and continue to learn and improve along the way!

  • Baking 350 cupcakes for the Norquest RLI division grand opening

  • Providing 400 cookies for the Costello Cookie Run

  • Catering for weddings, gender reveals, corporate events, and more

  • Collaborating with influencers

  • Receiving PR packages

  • Supplying Big Bean Coffee with baked goods

  • Enhancing the Sweet Bakes menu and website

  • Building strong relationships with clients

Sweet Bakes Location 

Sweet Bakes is located just outside Thorsby and offers flexible options for your convenience! If you cant meet in Thorsby, I can meet in the surrounding areas or deliver your order * additional charge may apply depending on the location and order size.
